TransitionWorks-Lite Workshop Scheduled April 16, 2009

Apr 16 2009 - 11:00am
Apr 16 2009 - 5:00pm

To all, I hope you are well and I apologize if I kept some of you waiting for the date of the next TransitionWorks Workshop. So, I wanted you to be the first to know that I have scheduled a TransitionWorks Workshop for Thursday April 16th from 11 AM - 6 PM at the offices of GenWealth 6 Inwood Place in Maplewood. GenWealth is located just off Maplewood Avenue and a two-minute walk from the Maplewood Train Station. Participation is limited to twelve so please RSVP to me as soon as possible.

Considering the turmoil the world has created for many people's careers I will be modifying the content of this workshop to focus on;
**How you can distinguish yourself in a crowded talent market.
**How you can identify the 85% of job opportunities that are not published.
**How you can communicate to ensure your next job is a source of positive energy for you.

TransitionWorks grew out of my efforts to facilitate career transition dialogue and workshops in the Maplewood/South Orange area back in 2002. The original Career Transition Network community grew to over 300 members, and the dialogue continued…

…it became clear that there is an intense need for something broader than a program that offered the mechanics of a job-hunt program. A perspective and framework for dealing with change could provide more lasting insights and tools that could be used over and over again. Over time, many people who came to the Career Transition Network were in jobs, but miserable - something was out of alignment.

With this in mind TransitionWorks was launched by Alfred Milanese and me. In the TransitionWorks Workshops and Dialogue Groups, dynamic conversations help stimulate discovery and mobilize the intention that fuels positive transition. To date, over 450 people have participated in the Career Transition Network and TransitionWorks workshops.

Much of the work in the workshop has been adapted from a few "experts" in the field, including William Bridges. It is fair to say, however, that much of the content and certainly the "spirit" of this work generated from my personal transition experiences of the last seven years - corporate leader ... fishmonger... catalyst and leadership coach.

Participating in the workshop will require about two hours of pre-work. There is no cost for the workshop, although I do ask participants to "do a good deed" in lieu of any fee. Cherie and/or Michael Leanza of GenWealth will also share their life's work in a brief presentation.

If you are interested in attending this workshop or learning more about TransitionWorks please send an email to me at johnharveyt2p@comcast.net and/or visit www.transitionworks.org.

In the meantime, safe travels - John 862-216-2425
