TransitionWorks-Lite: Maybe you want to follow along!
To all, just to keep you up-to-date I am facilitating a TransitionWorks-Lite Workshop next Wednesday from 12:45 PM - 5:00 PM at GenWealth 6 Inwood Place in Maplewood, NJ.
As you can imagine the pent up demand with the number of people that have been displaced, or are fearing displacement is high. I have 18 people signed up for this session - I wanted to cap it at 12, but gave in to a longer list.
To keep you up-to-speed with the work, here is one of my pre-assignments for the workshop. Maybe, you want to follow along?
I will schedule two sessions in May: one like this and another for graduating emerging leaders/adults. I have a waiting list on both.
I hope all is well and feel free to share advice, insight, questions and/or referrals.
TransitionWorks-Lite Pre-work
For success, I need you to complete 3-4 assignments between now and next week. Assignments # 1 and # 2 are below. They should not take you more than 30 minutes, as our target is roughly right, not perfection.
There will be more details to follow, but here is pre-work exercise #1 and #2.
1) Accept my Linked In invitation, and then join the TransitionWorks LinkedIn Group.
2) Whether you are currently a LinkedIn member or not, step 1 is to review or write a profile to include on LinkedIn. The criteria for a good intro are:
*Is it understandable - to an 8th grader? or some who has little knowledge of your work?
*Does it make you distinctive - a clue here is that the answer lies within, not with your experience, roles, and skills.
*Is it compelling does it inspire a positive reaction in the reader?
Between now and next week, take a shot at your profile - it is not easy and don't worry about it being good or bad - roughly right, remember!
And post it on LinkedIn. When we get together next week you will have two minutes to talk through who you are as an introduction.
One final thought - #3 - you may want to test it with an eighth grader, or thereabouts.
Have a great Easter, Passover, and/or weekend - John 862-216-2425
